Blue Prism has added a document processing solution directly into the Blue Prism platform. It is called Blue Prism Decipher and was announced as being available at Blue Prism World 2020 on 23rd June.
Decipher is a free Intelligent Document Processing (IDP) solution for Blueprism customers. Decipher IDP identifies and extracts data from structured and semi-structured business documents, such as invoices, purchase orders, and other typed forms.
Like Blue Prism core, Decipher can also be extended through Skills from Blue Prism Digital Exchange. It will be a foundation that can be extended with other technologies like ABBYY etc.
It seems to be a similar concept as Automation Anywhere IQ bot. The big difference though is that you will have to use third-party services if you like improved OCR/ICR.
Decipher is pre-trained and optimized to work with invoices and a few other formats. You can have digital workers input invoices into an Accounts Payable (AP) system and then match those invoices to outstanding purchase orders, seamlessly.
We have to wait and see how good this is!
